CAA-Quebec balance to Auto Show in Quebec
Road Tests of electric and hybrid vehicles Rechargeable: mission accomplished!
Road tests that took place in Quebec City at Auto Show were a resounding success for CAA-Quebec. Indeed, between 5 and 10 March 2013, nearly 2,000 show visitors have boarded an electric or hybrid vehicle battery.
There has been an average of 195 road tests a day at the show. "For us, these figures show a very palpable enthusiasm of the public side," says Sophie Gagnon, assistant vice-president for public and government relations for CAA-Quebec.
Of vehicles that arouse interest
"In the wake of the Montreal experience, visitors to the exhibition of Quebec also uses these tests to get an opinion on these vehicles, and several we have indicates that they would consider purchasing one of these vehicles when the time comes to replace their automobile. The alternative is well, the choices are many and the demand is there, "says Gagnon.
The same enthusiasm has also been observed in a recent survey pan or 42% of Quebecois said they would seriously consider the option of electric or hybrid vehicles plug in their next purchase.
Moreover, many of the visitors who is testing an electric vehicle at the show Quebec had only good words to describe their experience at the wheel of one of these vehicles.
Of data that are self-same
"By adding the figures of our presence in Quebec International Auto Show in Montreal, we note that there are more than 5,000 people who have to board an electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle," says Daniel Bedard, Director Assistant Automotive Advisory Services CAA-Quebec. "Never before have so many people in Quebec have had access as easily has electric and hybrid vehicles for testing a circuit combining city driving and highway driving. In short, we released these vehicles pages of automotive journalists to make them accessible to the public. And the response was great, "he says.
During the tests the Auto Show in Quebec and Montreal, the fleet of vehicles traveled more than 11,000 km without any technical or mechanical problem, in temperatures ranging between -27 and +4 C. Quebec, the vehicles PHEVs have need 136 liters of gasoline to travel 3,095 km, which represents an average of 4.4 litres/100 km. For fully electric vehicles, the electricity cost in total was $ 41.68 for 2775 km traveled, or about 1.5? / Km. "These figures speak for themselves: the economy is the gasoline. If the owners of these vehicles keep them long enough, they will realize substantial savings, especially an electric vehicle application significantly less maintenance than a model engine, "says Bedard.
