Calendar F1: season 20 races in 2012
After a draft that was circulated in early summer, the competitors in the World Championship Formula 1 have received the last weekend at the Hungarian GP a new version of the 2012 calendar. To make room for the new GP United States on the future of Austin circuit (Texas), a race held this year will be struck off the list because the settlement provides for a maximum of twenty tests per season.
After having mentioned the possibility of alternating between the two races in Spain, the new version of the provisional calendar now shows the suppression of Turkey. A logical decision to the outside, this appointment never filled the stands. But Turkey still want to keep their same race and wish to meet shortly to convince Bernie Ecclestone to reintegrate the calendar.
Anyway, this is basically the Australian GP in Melbourne which will again be the opening event in March. The Canadian GP in Montreal is planned for June 10, but it is not excluded that it is pushing 17 in the final schedule to be passed in the fall, in order to avoid a scheduling conflict with the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which will be part of the World Endurance Championship that will boost the FIA next year.
