Fangio would have turned 100 years!

June 24, Juan-Manuel Fangio would have turned 100. Do 24 June 1911 has Balcarce Argentina, Juan-Manuel Fangio began his national career just before the Second World War. But it is when the World Championship Formula 1 was established in 1950 as the talent of the Argentine driver broke out on the international stage.

World Champion 1951-54-55-56 and 57, it is still ahead of Michael Schumacher by the number of world titles. Fangio still holds the highest average ever by an F1 driver with 24 wins and only 51 races (47% of success).

Deceased of a heart attack July 17, 1995 (84 years old), Juan-Manuel Fangio mark the history of motor sport and was one of his first MEDIA champions. It is therefore not surprising that the last weekend in European GP F1, several tributes were paid to him on the occasion of his 100th birthday.
