Kia Optima 2011: Named "Best Choice in Security" by IIHS
The new intermediate sedan receives top honors from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Taking advantage of the momentum experienced by the growing range of new generation Kia vehicles, the new intermediate sedan 2011 Kia Optima has received the highest rating ("good") in all four tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS ) and was recognized as "Best choice in security," the most coveted prize awarded by the organization.

The Optima 2011 Kia adds three other products already appointed "Best choice in security", as follows: 2010 Kia Soul, the new crossover (CUV) Compact 2011 Sorento CUV and the all-new 2011 Sportage.
Ratings accorded by the IIHS from tests on before collisions, rear and side, and the new test in 2010 solidity of the roof which measures occupant protection in the event of a rollover. The general assessment of each vehicle is based on a variety adapted to each crash angle and the general impact on anthropomorphic dummies in the vehicle at the time of the collision measures. All vehicles must be equipped with an electronic stability control (ESC) to be eligible.
