AJAC chose the eleven best vehicles in Canada for 2011

Triple laureates for General Motors and two laureates for Ford and Volkswagen

If seventy of the best automotive journalists in Canada have spent the week in the picturesque tourist town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, this is not for the scenery or the wine tastings. These members of the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) journalists went there in the precise order to choose the best new cars and best new commercial vehicles in 11 different categories for the annual awards program of the Cars 'years of AJAC.

These four days of intensive and Concurrent trials are known in the automotive world as the 'Test Fest. The results of evaluations and voting journalists were announced today at a press conference or were unveiled the winners in 11 different categories. This press conference was held at the test center of Niagara, located on the grounds of the airport Regional Niagara District or 'Test Fest is held each year.

BEST FAMILY CAR (over $ 30,000) Buick Regal

BEST LUXURY CAR (over $ 50,000) BMW 5 Series Sedan

BEST LUXURY CAR (over $ 75,000)

Porsche 911 Turbo S

BEST NEW SPORTS / PERFORMANCE: Cadillac CTS-V Coupe

BEST CAR VAN: Toyota Sienna

BEST UTILITY / CROSSOVER (under $ 35,000) Hyundai Tucson

BEST UTILITY / CROSSOVER (between $ 35,000 and $ 50,000) Ford Edge

BEST UTILITY / CROSSOVER (over $ 50,000) Volkswagen Touareg

These results were compiled by international accounting firm KPMG and secrets homes until the press conference this morning. They were determined from more than 40,000 individual data generated by testing 144 different vehicles.

The purpose of the AJAC awards is to provide consumers with a valuable resource to use for the purchase of a new vehicle. A resource which presents a wide range of comparative data on vehicles that are new to the Canadian market. This information includes not only the features but also the performance data and subjective ratings on up to 23 different elements ranging from habitability comfort and quality of the bearing has the finesse of handling.

The 11 winners presented above are now vying for the Grand Prix Car of the year 2011 and the Utility of the year 2011 in Canada. These winners will be announced February 17, 2011 under the International Auto Show in Toronto Canada Ontario.
