Ford Ranger: 1982-2011

Ford announced the upcoming end of its compact truck the Ranger model which has already seen better days.

Launch in 1982, this small truck quickly became a commercial success for the American manufacturer. It was in 1999 that this car has seen sales reach a record never equal with 348,000 units sold.

But since then, sales have ceased to decline and it has a dizzying pace. Thus, the year passes were sold barely 55,000 copies and a date this year was the book that 35,000 units of small truck.

The plant in St. Paul, Minnesota and is currently assembles the Ford Ranger will be closed at the end of the year 2011, or 750 people will lose their jobs.

Very ironic this announcement, since Ford will unveil next month at the Salon of Sydney in Australia a new version of its Ranger truck that will be available in Australia and some other markets around the world.
