Fourth Annual Awards Best Retained Value

Canadian Black Book (CBB) has unveiled the winners of its fourth annual "Best Retained Value" for passenger cars and trucks under $ 70,000. Accrues from data collected on the vehicles of four years by the models 2005 prices indicate the ability of the latter to retain their value in comparison with their original MSRP.

Whereas previously the Black Book decreed prizes to the top five brands, this year the publication has selected individual models from various manufacturers. "In every brand, there are models that do less well, so it is very interesting for the consumer to identify accurate models that are much better than others," says Larry Shred, Executive Vice President of Canadian Black Book. "Since prices measure the actual value retained and not a potential value, consumer confidence in a given model is reinforced by the fact that prices are attributed directly to models that have best succeeded," said Mr. Shred.

Canadian Black Book also praised Canada for Toyota managed to place five models in the top ten; this is a feat unprecedented. "The list also demonstrates the confidence that buyers of the Toyota brand and its excellent reputation," stressed Mr. Shred.

Half of the models this year are part of the compact segment.
