Winter tires mandatory - CAA-Quebec reminds the rules of application

Then comes into force on Monday the new obligation for winter tires and many questions are raised by its members, CAA-Quebec reminds motorists that the regulations mandating the use of winter tires provides for including the possibility of obtaining an exemption certificate for travelers who leave Quebec between December 15 and March 15, period of application of the obligation.            

Issued by the Société automobile insurance du Quebec (SAAQ) and agents whose new registration CAA-Quebec centers, free certificate is valid for a period of 7 days.

In total, a maximum of four certificates can be issued for a vehicle even during the relevant period.            

Remember that this obligation was introduced by Bill NO42 adopted in December 2007, which establishes new standards in matters of road safety, in particular with regard to offenses related to major speeding and drink driving.
