Ecological car of the year 2013: the finalists

The Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) - in collaboration with Green Living Enterprises, organizers of the Green Living Show in Toronto - presents the list of finalists for ecological car of the year 2013.

Five cars compete for the title: 

Ford C-Max Energi

Ford Fusion Hybrid

Hyundai Sonata Hybrid

Mazda3 SKYACTIV

Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid Turbo

Among them, we find a plug-in hybrid vehicle, three hybrid cars and a model internal combustion high yield.

"For the judges, because of merit of the participants and the introduction of various avenues for a more friendly driving environment, the choice was difficult," said Peter Gorrie, Chairman of the Steering Committee of the price of ecological car AJAC Canadian.

Although this competition mainly put emphasis on fuel economy, it also takes into account the recyclable components used by manufacturers, without forgetting the business side of these vehicles, seeking a Customer who wonders on the reliability of all these new engines are more respectful of the environment.

Among the vehicles that have appealed to specialists AJAC, we find the Chevrolet Cruze turbo, Chevrolet Volt, Ford Edge EcoBoost, Ford Focus Electric, Mazda CX-5, Mazda6, Mercedes-Benz B250 turbo, Mitsubishi i-MiEV, Nissan LEAF and the little smart fortwo electric drive.

It's Friday April 12 will be unveiled as the name of the ecological car of the year 2013.
