BMW Group Canada retains its status as leader in 2012
The end of 2012 marks the 22nd year in a row of growth for the group in Canada
BMW Group Canada (BMW and MINI brands combined) communicates total sales of 37,707 units for 2012, which represents an increase of 8.0% compared to 2011 and marks the best year in the history of the group. For the month of December, BMW Group Canada sold 2,725 units, which represents a 2.2% increase compared to the month of December 2011 and best sales ever recorded for the month of December by the group. The close of 2012 marks the 22nd consecutive year of growth for BMW Group Canada.
BMW
The BMW brand stated sales 31,402 units in 2012, up 5.4% over the previous year. These sales were made 2012 the best year in the history of the BMW brand. For the month, the BMW brand sold 2,258 units, which represents an increase of 1.9% compared to December 2011 and the best month ever recorded in December by the brand. The 7 Series, featuring sedan brand, has contributed to the success of BMW in 2012; it was in the head segment during the year and up 42% compared to 2011.
MINI
MINI has sold a total of 6,305 units in 2012, an increase of 22.3% over the previous year. These results have allowed the brand to end the year of its 10th anniversary in Canada by recording the best annual sales in its history. In December, MINI stated 467 units sold, which represents an increase of 3.3% compared to December 2011. Thanks to these results, the month of December 2012 was the best month of December in the history of MINI Canada.
Motorrad
BMW Motorrad Canada reported sales YTD 1705 motorcycles, representing an increase of 4.9% compared with annual sales in 2011. During the month, BMW Motorrad has declared 29 retail sales, an increase of 866 7% compared to December 2011.
