Toyota is again penalized by the floods in Thailand
Toyota still adjusting its hours of additional production vehicles due to flooding in Thailand
Because of the floods plaguing Thailand, Toyota must continue to adjust the hours of additional production in its factories from Japan, North America and other regions.
In North America, to keep the parts, assembly of vehicles and factories (TMMC, TMMK, TMMI and TMMTX) will suspend overtime the next week. As previously announced, TMMK, TMMI, TMMWV and TMMC has canceled production of Saturday, October 29.
In Thailand, the company sales and production of TMC in this country extends the cessation of production at its plants in Samrong, Gateway and Ban Pho until 5 November. Flooding had no direct impact on these plants.
In Japan, TMC has adjusted production hours at its factories producing vehicles in Japan until 29 October. Production planned between October 31 and November 5 will be adjusted according to the continuous assessment of the parts supply chain each individual production.
Plants producing vehicles in South Africa, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam also adjust production during the week starting October 31.
The availability of parts from Thailand is to the study and Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing, North America (TEMA) works with suppliers and Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) to provide updates as to the availability of stocks will be confirmed so that production back to normal levels.
