Cadillac SRX: A voluntary safety recall
General Motors launched a voluntary safety recall for 3996 2010 Cadillac SRX Crossover to check if the power steering pipe is damaged. According to the analysis of GM, it is possible that the problem involves only two or three of recalled vehicles.
But if the line is damaged, leaking power steering fluid may develop, and if the liquid comes into contact with hot parts of the engine, a fire could occur in the engine compartment. Fire binds to this problem has already occurred in a SRX when nobody was in the vehicle.
No accidents and no injuries have been caused by this problem. The recalled vehicles were built in December 2009. Most vehicles keys (3460) are the United States, but we are 91 in Canada. 341 models keys were exported to China. The owners will be notified by mail. The inspection and, if necessary, repairs will be made free.
