GM Canada is a non-mandatory recall of Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 and Pursuit.

General Motors of Canada will conduct a safety recall of 256,583 compact cars to settle a problem affecting the power steering system. The keys are the vehicles Cobalt 2005 2010 Chevrolet G5 2007 2010 Pontiac Pursuit and 2005 and 2006 Pontiac.

GM Canada met today with Transport Canada regarding the non mandatory recall after an investigation which revealed that more effort may be required to operate the steering wheel when the vehicle reaches a speed of 24 km / h. Although these vehicles remain safe because the directional control is maintained, this measure has been taken for the sake of well-being of our clients.

If the problem occurs, the chime will sound and a message about the power steering will be displayed. The problem takes some time to develop and tends to occur in that are no longer protected by a guarantee older models.

A plan to remedy the situation is under preparation. Customers will be notified once the plan is established.
