Lexus HS 250h: Prone has a voluntary recall
Toyota launches campaign volunteer some security related vehicles 2010 Lexus HS 250h
Toyota Canada Inc. recorded a voluntary safety campaign with Transport Canada regarding Lexus HS 250h vehicles from model year 2010 to remedy a problem of compliance with the Standard Federal Motor Vehicle Safety (CMVSS) 301.
As part of its annual compliance testing program, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently conducted a test on the 2010 HS 250h. Testing is to strike the vehicle in the back with a deformable barrier has a speed of about 80 km / h. The vehicle is hampered by a mobile deformable barrier with an overlap of 70 percent. During this test, the vehicle is rotated successively about its longitudinal axis 90 degrees at a time. During turning of the vehicle, there was a fuel leak which exceeded the requirements of the standard.
During the development of the vehicle, Lexus has been testing vehicles HS 250h respecting the same protocol and determined that the vehicles were fully conform to the CMVSS 301. Lexus is currently working to identify the reason for the different results obtained during tests and determine the cause of this non-compliance.
For now, Lexus has not identified a solution to remedy to this problem, but it tries to do it quickly, and will notify the owners of this solution has been developed. Meanwhile, dealers not deliver any new vehicle part of their stocks and are referred by the campaign.
