BMW recalls 65,285 vehicles in Canada

The German manufacturer has announced the recall of 570,000 vehicles in North America, with a little over 65,000 units on Canadian soil.

A reminder that affects models:

BMW Serie 1 between the years 2008 and 2012

BMW 3 Series between the years 2007 and 2011

2012 BMW X1

BMW Z4 2011 the year 2009

A faulty cable could simply cause a sudden stop of the engine.

Recall from Transport Canada

On some vehicles, the connection of the positive cable from the battery to the fuse box may be lacking while the vehicle is in motion. This could interrupt the operation of the electrical system of the vehicle, causing the engine to stall and cause loss of propulsion of the vehicle as well as the judgment of various systems of vehicles such as lighting. Loss of propulsion and electrical system of the vehicle, together with the density of traffic, the condition of the road and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of accidents, property damage or personal injury.

Correction: Dealers will replace the connection of the positive battery cable with a version update.
