Ford and Mazda conduct a Joint Recall
There was a time not so long ago, or Ford and Mazda compact SUV manufacturers offered the Escape and Tribute, which used the same mechanics.
Today, these two models are facing a recall by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA American) and Transport Canada.
Transport Canada's recall covers both vehicles:
Certain motor vehicles V6 3.0L and device control of the speed, untap INADEQUATE between the protective cover from the motor and the cable connection speed control could jam the throttle when the accelerator is or shoves it almost shoves. An accelerator shoves could make the vehicle roll very quickly and make the slowdown or stop the vehicle difficult if the gearbox is not in neutral. This could cause an accident causing property damage or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the fastener back the protective cover from the engine, raise the cover in the area of cable control speed to produce an adequate degagement between the cover and the connection of the cable.
This recall affects Ford Escape products between 2001 and 2004 and the Mazda Tribute assembled between 2001 and 2006 as well as 2008 models.
In the United States, there are more than 420,000 Ford Escape and Mazda Tribute approximately 217,000 who are recalled.
In Canada, we are talking about 44,653 Ford Escape and Mazda Tribute 34210.
For its part, Ford says its Escape models of the year 2005 and are in no way concerned with this problem.
