Fiat officially takes control of Chrysler
Faster than lightning, the big boss Sergio Marchionne Fiat has officially take control of Chrysler.
To do this, the Italian has bought 6% of units still held the U.S. government in Chrysler.
All for $ 500 million.
Thus, the shares of Fiat in American are automatically passed from 46 to 52%.
The next step for Mr. Marchionne will be to do the same with the share of 1.7% held by the Canadian and Ontario governments in Chrysler.
At this time the shares are held by Chrysler in:
Fiat: 52%
Union UAW VEBA: 46.3%
Canadian and Ontario governments: 1.7%
Very avowed intentions of the Italian manufacturer has consist monopolize 57% stake in Chrysler by the end of this year.
